Generally speaking, there are only three types of suspension! Oil shocks, gas springs and air suspension! Anything else is an attempt to suspend a bicycle trailer for dogs, but so far, it has not worked. So what kind of suspension do dog trailers usually have?
The answer is simple.
We take a spring from the trampoline sector and simply stretch it, which changes the nature of the spring. Now we have created a spring with different levels of tension, i.e. if you push on one of these trailers with your hand, the spring will go down and if you let go of the trailer abruptly, it will go up very, rapidly, just like in a lift!
As all trailers are built the same way, we believe that they cannot be sprung because the continuous axle or wheels built into the frame of such a dog bike trailer means that the left wheel does the same as the right wheel, both wheels simply jump. Imagine if we were in a car and had the same procedure, then when you hit a pothole you would experience the same symptom, the car would jump. That's why suspension dog trailers are a disaster for our pets and are not recommended by us !!!!!
What you can do. Remove the suspension, inflate the tyres to about 1.4 bar and put a solid plate on the floor. That's it, it's not comfortable, but it's 1000 times better than anything else!
